Double Iveco Overhaul |
Maintenance Complete on IvecosThis boat originally came out to get oil leaks checked on the gearboxes. While the boat was underway oil was leaking out of the gearbox and leaking down into the coupling, spraying oil all through the bilge. While the boat was out for various repairs, we removed both shaft couplings to access the gearboxes and pulled the back ends. We quickly found that the sealing plates were incorrectly installed and sealant was used where there shouldn't be. All the coolers were pulled from both engines and reconditioned before being painted and plumbed back into the system. | ![]() |

More Problems DiscoveredAs the job went on we noticed more and more issues, the intake manifold was blowing soot from multiple gaskets on 3 out of the 4 manifolds and it was decided we would remove all 4 manifolds and replace all gaskets as a preventative precaution. Both aftercoolers were removed at the end as part of the overhaul of all the coolers. The boat was launched and we had technicians on board as it was driven back to the viaduct to check for any further issues. | ![]() |

Final ChecksThe vessel was then lifted back into the water and we had two engineers on board to check over its operation on the way back to its marina berth. | ![]() |
